1. Who we are
ScootValue is a UK online marketplace that lets private sellers list a mobility scooter and receive offers from independent mobility dealers. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean ScootValue; "you" means the person using the website.

2. Our role in the sale
We are an introducer, not the buyer. Any sale is a contract between you and the dealer who collects the scooter. We do not own, inspect, store, transport or take payment for scooters, and we are not an agent for either party.
Dealers set their own offers. We do not guarantee that you will receive an offer, that any offer reflects market value, or that a dealer will complete a collection.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 and resident in the United Kingdom to list a scooter. You must be legally entitled to sell the scooter, or be acting with the agreement of the person who is.
4. Listing a scooter
- Describe the scooter honestly, including faults, damage and battery condition.
- Only upload photos you own or are entitled to use.
- Offers are based on your description. If the scooter differs materially on collection, the dealer may revise or withdraw their offer.
5. Offers, acceptance and your contact details
Offers are typically valid for 7 days. Your name, address and phone number are not shared with any dealer until you accept an offer. Accepting an offer means you agree to your contact details being passed to that dealer so they can arrange collection.
Accepting an offer is not a legally binding sale. Either you or the dealer may withdraw before collection and payment, though we ask that you let us know as soon as possible.
6. Collection and payment
Collection is free to you and is arranged directly with the dealer. Payment is made at collection, by cash before the scooter is loaded, or by bank transfer confirmed as received before the dealer leaves. Any dispute over payment or condition is between you and the dealer, though we will help where we reasonably can.
7. Fees
ScootValue is free for private sellers. The price offered includes free collection; we do not deduct commission from the amount you are paid.
8. Your account
We create an account for you when you submit a valuation so you can return to view your offers. Keep your login details secure and tell us promptly if you think someone else has access. You can ask us to close your account at any time.
9. Acceptable use
Do not submit false or misleading information, list a scooter you are not entitled to sell, attempt to interfere with the website, or use it for anything unlawful. We may suspend or remove listings and accounts that break these terms.
10. Our liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Subject to that, we are not liable for the acts or omissions of dealers, for the condition of any scooter, for the price achieved, or for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable. We provide the website "as is" and do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
11. Intellectual property
The ScootValue name, branding and website content belong to us. By uploading photos and descriptions you keep ownership, but grant us a licence to display them to dealers and to operate and promote the service.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The version published here is the one that applies, and the date at the top shows when it last changed.
13. Complaints and governing law
If something goes wrong, email hello@scootvalue.co.uk and we will respond within 5 working days. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
